What is fashion?

Fashion is a popular aesthetic expression at a particular time and in a specific context, especially in clothing, footwear, lifestyle, accessories, makeup, hairstyle, and body proportions.

Fashion changes over time and depending on the culture you are in. That is why, in order to express opinions and share ideas about fashion trends and waves, there is a need for certain vocabulary and grammar structure. This unit will provide with all the tools to be able to express any ideas, feeling and opinions you have about the fashion industry. 

You are going to face many situations in life in which you need to talk about clothes, fabrics, patterns and many more aspects related to fashion. Imagine you are abroad, you find yourself in a Forever 21 and you cannot talk to the employees about that wonderful dress or jacket you want to buy! You must be prepared at all times. 

By the end of this unit, our goal is for you to:

• Give opinions, reasons, explanations and points of view using the vocabulary about fashion.
• Express in writing their personal opinions and give detailed accounts of feelings and experiences about fashion, values, and beliefs in micro / macro cultures.
• Understand significant aspects of the topic in reading comprehension activities.
